Greetings and happy start to the summer to everyone! I hope you all have had a productive spring and have enjoyed celebrating the graduates in your life.

This season, our chapter has proudly embraced a theme centered on celebrating students, recent graduates, and young professionals who are beginning their journeys in the concrete industry. Their energy, curiosity, and fresh perspectives are shaping the future of our field, and it is inspiring to see so many new faces becoming involved and engaged.

This spring quarter, we hosted several successful events that showcased this commitment. Our annual Golf Tournament brought together members across all experience levels and raised over $18,000 to directly support student scholarships—an investment in the next generation of industry leaders. We also held a Mini Golf event at Bullwinkle’s in Upland tailored specifically for our young members, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment for networking and connection. In addition, we were proud to sponsor the breakfast at the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo ASCM Golf Tournament, where former CM students and current Largo employees and ACI SoCal members Brayden Groshart and Andy Abdelnour joined me in passing out breakfast burritos and promoting our soon to be student chapter at Cal Poly. Thank you both and Stephanie Weldon, our student activities board liaison, for all your hard work to make this happen!

For young professionals, becoming involved in ACI Southern California offers invaluable opportunities—from technical learning and mentorship to networking with industry leaders. These connections can shape careers in meaningful and lasting ways. I encourage all of our current members to bring a young colleague to our next event and help foster these important relationships. Mentorship and inclusion remain critical to sustaining the strength of our industry.

Looking ahead, we have exciting opportunities to stay connected this summer. Join us for our Pickleball Tournament on Wednesday, July 22nd, and for a unique project tour of a 3D-printed home rebuild in Altadena on Wednesday, August 12th.
